Capsule Geology

The RDN property covers a felsic centre which lies near the top of the Early to Middle Jurassic Hazelton Group. Variably altered dacitic to trachytic volcanics and subvolcanic intrusives, with lesser rhyolite, are overlain by carbonaceous, pyritic argillite and pillow basalt.

The Boundary zone, located at the southern edge of the RDN 13 claim, was discovered and drilled by Noranda in 1990. The zone is comprised of several narrow gold rich veins hosted in maroon volcanics of the Hazelton Group dacite/trachyte package. The quartz-calcite veins average just a few centimetres and contain massive to semi-massive chalcopyrite and pyrite with surrounding chlorite-hematite alteration. The best intersection from five holes that Noranda drilled in the Boundary Zone yielded 359.7 grams per tonne across 22 centimetres (true width). These veins were resampled in 1998 with similar results. The best results from 1998 were grab samples that graded up to 56.67 grams per tonne gold and chip samples that yielded up to 36.86 grams per tonne over 0.5 metre (as reported in Assessment Report 27376).

In 2017, Aben Resources Ltd. diamond drilled nine holes totalling 2445 metres on their Forest Kerr project. Highlight results from the newly discovery Boundary North zone included 1.2 grams per tonne gold, 1.8 grams per tonne silver and 0.21 per cent copper over 122 metres that includes 10.9 grams per tonne gold, 14.6 grams per tonne silver and 1.5 per cent copper over 12 metres with a high grade core of 21.5 grams per tonne gold, 28.5 grams per tonne silver and 3.1 per cent copper over 6 metres (Aben Resources Ltd., News Release, November 6, 2017).

Continuous mineralization was identified at the newly discovered “Boundary North Zone” where three holes tested a broad zone of alteration. Drill core from the holes at the Boundary Zone have been variably quartz-sericite-pyrite (QSP) altered with local chlorite overprint and widespread episodic quartz and quartz-carbonate veining with subordinate brecciation.

Boundary Zone mineralization remains open in multiple directions with numerous soil geochemical anomalies and geophysical targets yet to be drill-tested.
